Ex-Coronation Street star Beverley Callard talks about the value of music

Actress that played publican Liz McDonald in the famous Rover's Return joins PPL at the Northern Restaurant & Bar Show 2012.

Music licensing company PPL had a stand at the Northern Restaurant & Bar Show 2012, held 12-13 March at Manchester Central.

This provided a chance to raise awareness of the need for a music licence and allowed local businesses in the hospitality sector to meet PPL.

Former Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard - one the most famous landladies in the country thanks to her stint as publican Liz MacDonald in the famous Rover's Return - visited the PPL stand for an hour on Monday 12 March to help promote the value of music.

Beverley says: "Some of the most memorable scenes in Coronation Street have taken place in the Rover's Return and music has often been used to influence those scenes. Music gives a pub life!"

"Music is also added into scenes in bars, shops and factories. Music in a public place can have an amazing impact on atmosphere."
